The Gianino Family of Restaurants has been a cornerstone of St. Louis dining for nearly 50 years, built on a legacy of family, tradition, and exceptional Italian cuisine.
Bill Gianino opened his flagship restaurant, Bill Gianino's, in Oakville in 1975 after starting his journey in the restaurant industry with Gianino’s Pizza Den in 1971. Bill's early experiences shaped his dedication to quality and community.
As he once said,“I saw the area growing and the need for a bigger menu and more choice.” His commitment to hospitality and mentorship profoundly impacted his sons, William “Billy” and Anthony “Tony”, who have since taken up the family mantle.
In 1992, Bill expanded the family’s reach with
Frankie G’s Bar & Grill, located next door to his flagship restaurant. This casual dining spot quickly became a favorite in South County, known for its warm atmosphere and hearty Italian offerings. Bill’s legacy continues here, where his sons carry on the traditions instilled by their father.
In 2007, the family opened Frankie Gianino’s in Imperial, honoring Bill's father, Frankie, whose recipes and ideas remain at the heart of the menu. Billy and Tony, having grown up under Bill’s guidance, now uphold the family’s commitment to quality and hospitality.
Joey B’s began as a partnership between Tony and his lifelong friend Joey Barczewski, launching the first location on the Landing in 2004, followed by Joey B's on the Hill in 2008, which was more food focused and family friendly. This restaurant reflects the family’s tradition with an eclectic menu and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Their success continued with the opening of Joey B’s Concord in 2011 and Joey B’s Manchester in 2016, both known for their extensive menus, great patios, fun atmosphere and community engagement.
Billy G's Kirkwood opened in 2013, featuring a stylish blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. This location highlights family recipes while introducing innovative dishes, complemented by a vibrant outdoor patio. Most recently, Billy G's Chesterfield opened in June 2023, focusing on nostalgic family dining experiences and a diverse menu including breakfast 7 days a week along with family staples such as our famous Gianino’s House Salad and home-made St. Louis-style square-cut pizzas.
Despite Bill's passing in 2020, his ethos and work ethic endure through his family and long-time dedicated employees, many of which range from 20-49 years! As he humbly remarked, “We wouldn’t be here without great help and an outstanding customer base.”
Today, with Billy, Tony, and Joey leading the way, the Gianino Family continues to celebrate their legacy, inviting you to join them in this rich tradition of hospitality and culinary excellence.
